    Sleep Mode

    • The control panel on GE Profile dryers goes into “sleep” mode when the dryer is powered on but no cycle is active. The control panel will seem to be non-functional but can be activated by pressing the “Power” button, and then selecting the desired cycle and any modifiers. The dryer should then commence normal operation.

    Lock Mode

    • Most GE Profile dryers with a control panel and touch panels offer a lock mode to prevent the dryer from being used when already in progress or by unauthorized users. Hold the “Lock” touch panel for three seconds to release the control lock. A beep will sound and the “Lock” button will go out to indicate that the lock mode is released. The control panel will now respond to commands.

    Service Mode

    • The control panel can be set to a service mode while the dryer is on display in an appliance store or if troubleshooting or service is needed. If the touch pads are not responding normally and error codes are appearing on the control panel, press “Stop” to return the control panel to the regular display and function.

    Power Reset

    • Sometimes the control panel may perform operations incorrectly or not respond as expected. If this occurs, replace or reset the circuit breaker or fuse to perform a power reset to the dryer. Once the power is restored, press the desired touch button for a dry cycle and then push “Start.” Contact GE for service if the control panel touch pads continue to respond incorrectly.
