How to Use Scopes
- 1). Set your scope up on its tripod or secure viewing post. Remove the lens caps. Place your observing eye over the eye-piece lens at the rear end of the scope. Find your target quarry you wish to view in the field of view.
- 2). Grip the focal adjustment dial either surrounding the eye piece or to its side. Turn the dial in one-quarter-turn increments to bring the target into focus. Turn the dial slowly until you have a crisp and defined view of the target.
- 3). Turn the magnification dial on the back end of the scope or at the optic barrel to expand the magnification (zoom in) or decrease it (zoom out). As you do this, you need to focus the focal adjustment once again. Learn to coordinate the two adjustments so you lose little time in the viewing of your target animal or object.
- 4). Store your scope in the case or protective bag. Always place the lens cover back onto the scope when storing the device. Clean the lenses using dust-free and static-free chamois cloths.
