The Patter of Tiny Feet

If ever you are lying in bed in the quiet and all of a sudden you hear a gnawing sound or the sound of something scurrying along the floor boards in the ceiling there is a big chance that you have mice.
Unfortunately, where there is one mouse there are inevitably more, especially if they have found a food source.
They will do whatever necessary to eat.
It is not only the contamination of food and disease that mice can be responsible for but also for destroying items like furniture or even the inside of cavity walls.
They will actually gnaw away at the furniture or anything wood.
They have been known to eat their way through wood to get to a food source because when it comes to finding food, they are very determined little creatures.
The fact that mice mostly only appear at night is one of the main reasons that a lot of people do not even know they have mice in the house unless they have heard them scurrying along the floor boards or found the famous little brown droppings that these little creatures tend to leave behind them.
The destruction of a mouse can be devastating, they will make their nests out of chewed up newspaper or cardboard so it is wise not to store old newspapers and things like that for a long time without moving them and cleaning around them.
This is one more reason that hoarding is not a good idea.
You do not want to wait until you're bitten by a mice to do something about an infestation.
This is too late.
By then you could have nests throughout your home and have furniture destroyed.
Not to mention wires and electrical devices.
This can get expensive and stressful.
They are also very quick creatures and can run at a phenomenal speed and by squeezing through holes as small as 5mm they are often very difficult to capture without the use of a trap, they gnaw away little holes especially in skirting boards where they can often run and seek sanctuary in their nests.
Either from the householder or, indeed, their cat.
This is not a good situation.
If your cat is no longer working, buying a trap may be your next option.
After that poison may be on you mind.
Hopefully these methods work because you do not want mice taking over your home.
