Building a Prosperous Business - Willingness to Work
As most of us have learned being successful, especially really successful, has nothing to do with merit or "working hard" or the traditional values that your mom and dad and society has tried to instill in you.
In fact real success comes from understanding that you have to break out of those conventions.
Name any successful person whose story starts with I went to work again from 9 to 5 and did the same thing and came home for 15 years.
Their stories don't start or end like that.
Networking, politics and connections can be more important then merit or whether you "deserve" the break.
Another key thing to understand is that more you move up the corporate chain the fewer people are there, the more jealously they protect their personal interests and are on the lookout for anybody that might take their position.
So the fewer your chances for success.
So how do you and I as regular people break out of this "job" cycle and build the life we want? Is it possible? The answer is yes but unlike the job cycle - you have to develop deep reservoirs of belief in yourself - not the fiction of education, deserving or guarantees.
You have got to develop a way to generate additional income that will build cash and lower your taxes.
If you don't lower your taxes then the value of your money is eroded and may times it makes no sense.
This is where a legitimate work from home business (HBB) comes in.
This is how you make it.
If you have read the rest of this series, you understand the values of owning and operating a business, even part time, even if you "lose" money against the business itself - you can still generate a profitable financial picture.
Can you be successful in an HBB? First, you have to find one that matches your specific requirements.
Second, owning and operating a business, even part time will not make you successful - there are no guarantees.
There are three reasons why small businesses are not more successful and the first and most important is "Not Willing to Work".
We have all been trained to go to work and do a job but that is not the same as being willing to work.
Being willing to work is tough - having a job is simple in comparison.
Somebody tells you when to do something, what to do, how to do it, agrees to pay you a certain amount to do it, etc.
What could be simpler? Now you may not like what you do or your boss but that has nothing to do with the fact that you are part of structure that dictates exactly what you should be doing.
The closest thing to independence at this level is in sales.
When you have a home based business you have to be driven to the success you're looking for - hobby money, career level income or financial independence.
The bigger your goal - the bigger your commitment.
That means that you have the inner drive do your business in and around soccer games, when your home from work and you're tired or on weekends - you get the picture.
That's why only 5% of the population makes 6 figures or more - only that 5% is willing to do the work necessary to get there.
The other 95% are simply are not willing to do the work necessary but most likely they are the loudest to complain.
So - do you want to be part of the 95% or the 5% - it's your choice.
This is also why when you choose a home based business ensure you are working with a team of people that can and will support you.
This is not your supplier but others doing the same business that give you the tips and support you need.
Self-discipline, desire and need are the keys - you HAVE to be dissatisfied with where you are now and have clear goal (car, house, college fund, retirement, vacation, etc.
).
A lot of people say - I am not obsessed with money - money can't buy happiness, etc.
- what a bunch of nonsense.
Those people are trying to justify their condition or lifestyle choice by having an artificial construct of money as a necessary "evil".
Money is an instrument for you to gain more personal freedom of choice.
Freedom costs - be willing to pay the price.
