California’s most famous wine producing region, Napa Valley, was first recognized as an international success when two Napa Valley wineries, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars and Chateau Montelena, won the 1976 Judgement of Paris, a prestigious wine tasting competition. The region has since become an international destination for wine tourism.
