How To Quickly Get Over Somebody You Love

Are they leaving, or did they already leave? If so, believe me, I know how painful it can be. Breakups are never easy, no matter how friendly the breakup is or was.

There still will be plenty of hurt feelings. In fact, you might be feeling a mixture of things like anger, guilt, confusion, and loneliness. But what's even harder than dealing with all of these emotions is learning how to get over someone you love.

Now before you even begin trying to get over your ex boyfriend or girlfriend, make sure that's what you want to do. What do I mean? Well, do you still think there's a chance you can get your ex back? Was the breakup over something silly, and you think you have a chance at love again?

If so, then getting over someone you love like that would be for the wrong reasons. You'd be acting out of impulse and emotion and hurt instead of what's best for the both of you.

So the best thing to do?

Let the dust of the broken relationship settle for a day or two before you make your decision. Make sure that you're doing it for the right reasons.

Now let's assume you've decided to get over your ex, once and for all.

For starters, let's look at what you SHOULD NOT do.

You shouldn't think of all the BAD times with your ex. Why? Because getting yourself to hate them is only going to hurt you more.

Trying to hate them by thinking of all the bad stuff is going to create a lot of resentment and remorse in you. Worse yet, you won't let go and you won't be able to move on to a new, more loving relationship that's right for you.

The better option here is to forgive and let live. So forgive your ex for everything they may have done to you. And if they broke up with you, forgive them for hurting you.

By finding it within yourself to forgive, you allow yourself to move on. So once you've forgiven your ex for the breakup and for everything else, it's time to live it up!

Go out into the world and live your life to the fullest. Get healthy. Pick up a new hobby. Meet new people. Go back to school. Do whatever brings you joy and happiness.

By doing this, you'll not only improve yourself for the next person who comes into your life, but you'll also give yourself the time and space you need to truly get over the breakup and your ex.

Finally, when it comes to how to get over someone you love you've got to keep your expectations on a realistic level.

The goal isn't to forget about your ex girlfriend or boyfriend completely. After all, if the two of you had good memories together, you should be able to look back on those in the future and feel good about what happened back then.

In the end, you've got to be able to move forward with your life. That's why it's so important to start working on letting go as soon as the breakup happens.

Then, after time has allowed your wounds to heal, you can start to think about them in a healthy, mature way… without getting upset about everything that happened.
