Calgary Minor Soccer Pride
Calgary Minor Soccer Association is considered as one of the biggest clubs in history.
It is comprised of up to 42,000 players and 1600 teams.
Aside from being western Canada's major youth group, it is also a blanket club for most of the city's community-run programs in addition to private teams and most of the city's clubs.
This club is home to future great players because it gives everyone, both boys and girls to compete in the provincial level championships.
Kids as young as three to four years old play this game in this club.
The clubs' major teams in the provincial category were Celtic, Foothills, Eagles, Blizzard, International East Side and Chinook.
Whole year-round training is what makes this club distinct from other clubs in the country.
When climate seems to interfere with their training, especially during cold winter days, they can still continue sharpening up their skills by using two indoor pitches in two separate locations.
Calgary Soccer Center which is the largest among the two grounds is located in 7000 48th Street SE.
This complex boasts of being the first indoor arena in the whole of Canada and it is also the largest indoor location in North America.
The complex consists of four indoor fields and four outdoor pitches.
The Calgary Soccer Federation who owned and operated the said complex opened it to public in January 1992.
The other indoor venue for Calgary Minor Soccer is the Calgary West Soccer Centre located at 11014 Bearspaw Dam Road NW.
This smaller complex is an air-sustained construction with four indoor fields that is bigger than those of Calgary Soccer Center.
This venue was opened to the public in December 2004.
