    Setting Up Your Wireless Connection

    • 1). Find the Wii "Menu" button (a circle on the bottom left of the Wii Channel Screen).

    • 2). Select "Wii Settings" (the wrench icon).

    • 3). Use the right arrow on the screen to scroll to page two and select "Internet."

    • 4). From Internet, select "Connection Settings."

    • 5). Choose the first empty connection slot. If none of the slots are empty, it just means the Wii console has been configured before. Click on a connection slot and select "clear settings."

    • 6). Select "Wireless Connection." For this step, select "Search for an Access Point" or "Manual Setup." AOSS Compatible router users can use the AOSS connection option. Nintendo recommends using the search option. Advanced users who have trickier wireless home network setups will probably find the manual setup easier.

    Search for an Access Point

    • 1). Choose "search for an access point."

    • 2). Let the Wii scan for nearby wireless networks.

    • 3). Select your home network from the list.

    • 4). Type in the key or password for your router. This step is only necessary if your network is secured. The Wii will show if it's secured with a gold lock icon.

    • 5). Let the Wii run the connection test.

Using the Manual Setup to configure the Wii

    • 1). Enter the SSID.

    • 2). Enter the router's security type: WEP, WPA-PSK (TKIP), WPA-PSK (AES) or WPA2-PSK (AES).

    • 3). Go to "Advanced Settings" and turn off "Auto-Obtain IP."

    • 4). Enter the IP address, subnet mask and gateway.

    • 5). Enter the DNS settings. You can leave the MTU settings alone.
