    University of Florida

    • The University of Florida offers two tracks in its online Master of Science degrees through its Department of Computer & Information Sciences & Engineering (CISE). The two tracks are Bioinformatics and General Computer Science and Engineering. Courses are delivered via the UF EDGE online management system, which presents asynchronous (archived) classes, allowing students to log in and view streaming, archived lectures at their convenience. Students have access online to assignments, research resources, lectures and discussion forums. Students in this program are required to complete 30 course credit hours in the following areas: operating systems, programming language, software testing, computer networks, computer security, software engineering, analysis of algorithms and database management.

    University of Illinois

    • The University of Illinois offers an online Master of Computer Science degree program which mirrors the on-campus program. Students are required to take a minimum of 24 credit hours in core computer science courses, which are available in the following areas: software development, algorithms, parallel computer systems, database and information systems, graphics, programming languages, software engineering and system networking. Online lectures are captured on-campus, posted to an online system, and streamed on an asynchronous schedule for online students to view at their convenience. Online students have up to five years to complete their degree after enrolling.

    University of Minnesota

    • The University of Minnesota offers an online Master's of Computer Science degree program through the school's Digital Campus. Students are required to take 31 course credit hours in computer science courses offered in the following areas: software engineering, programming languages, theoretical foundations, distributed systems, networks, security and high performance computing. Online courses are delivered via the university's UNITE online platform; lectures are delivered on both synchronous (live) and asynchronous schedules. Live lectures are streamed using web conferencing technology, and asynchronous lectures are captured on-campus and streamed online for students to view at their convenience.
