Lamanai and the New River Safari

    • The Lamanai ruins is one of the most famous sights in Belize. These ancient Mayan ruins include the Temple of the Mask, one of the tallest Mayan pyramids, the stucco mask of the Sun God "Kinich Ahau", and the Temple of the Jaguar. The Lamanai and New River Safari tour begins with a 45-minute ride to Tower Hill and continues with a 90-minute riverboat ride up the New River to the site of the Lamanai ruins. The Lamanai ruins tour begins with a tour of a small museum containing ancient relics followed by a 1.5-mile hike to tour the temples. After the tour, lunch is served near the edge of the lagoon, and time is allotted for additional sightseeing in the rain forest. This tour takes approximately 7 hours. Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines recommends that guests wear comfortable clothing, low-heeled walking shoes, a hat, sun block and insect repellent.

Cave Tubing and Belize Rainforest ATV

    • Belize is home to an elaborate cave system used by the Maya thousands of years ago. The cave tubing and ATV rain forest excursion begins at the Peccary Park Adventure Center, where participants are instructed on the safe handling of the ATV and issued protective gear. Time is allotted to explore the jungle, using trails that loggers laid out over 100 years ago. At the end of the ATV adventure, the tour continues at the Maya caves. As you explore the caves, you're likely to see ancient artifacts that have been present in the caves for centuries. Lunch is served at Caves Branch National Park, followed by a 45-minute hike through the jungle to the entrance of an underground cave system. Equipped with a flashlight and an inner-tube, participants gently float through the intricate cave system. This tour last approximately 7½ hours.

Belize Zoo and Old Belize Tour

    • During the 1980s, a documentary was filmed highlighting several of the rare native animals found in Belize. During the filming, many of the animals became partly tame, and the zookeeper was worried that they would not be able to be re-introduced back in the wild. The Belize Zoo was built to house these animals. The uniqueness of the Belize Zoo is the way it is constructed: A small gravel path is carved through the jungle, leading visitors to feel as though they are on display for the animals, not the other way around. The Belize Zoo and Old Belize Tour begins with a 90-minute tour of the zoo followed by a tour of the Old Belize Museum. The museum features a series of rooms depicting Belize's history time-line. Following the museum tour, time is allowed for relaxing on Cucumber Beach. Use of beach chairs, canoes, rafts and a jumping water trampoline are included in the tour. This tour takes approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes. Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines recommends that guests wear comfortable clothing, a hat and low-heeled walking shoes.
