How to Get Plunger Marks Off a Toilet
- 1). Turn off your water supply. Flush the toilet, emptying the bowl of any water. Water dilutes any liquid or chemical you use.
- 2). Add two cups of vinegar to your toilet bowl. Leave the vinegar for five to 10 hours. Scrub the toilet with a plastic brush. Turn the water back on and flush the toilet.
- 3). Use bleach on the stain if vinegar didn't do the job. Apply it to the toilet bowl and leave it for a couple of hours. Keep your bowl closed after applying to ensure that the fumes from the bleach don't spread. Clean the surface of the bowl with a brush and wash it away.
- 4). Sprinkle borax directly onto the plunger marks inside the toilet. Scrub it and leave it for around 30 minutes. Flush the toilet.
- 5). Apply some hydrochloric acid to the stain. Do not leave it on to your toilet any longer than recommended, since this strong chemical can erode the surface.
