A scarf, head wear or cap will protect hair from the cold and the wind, ensure that it's not so snug that it'll limit circulation on your head. Don't go outside with your hair wet, you risk breakage; your hair will freeze if it's cold enough outdoors and may split. Allow yourself a little additional time in the morning so your hair is dry, or take into consideration cleaning the night before to reduce the possibility of hair becoming brittle from the ice cold.

Reduce your time blow drying and curling. The appliances that create lots of heat on your hair can be harmful. Your hair is having a hard enough time trying to cope with winter dryness and cold conditions. Add the aspect of hot producing hair products won't allow it to be any easy to maintain your healthy hair. Do not unneccessary use your hair dryer. Overusing your hairdryer may play a role in dry damaged hair. Attempt to blow dry your hair as little as you can. When you use your hairdryer, use the cool function. The most common mistake many people make in the wintertime is washing their hair too frequently. In cold temperatures, both the hair and scalp normally dry out more easily. Try not to shampoo hair more than once a day. This may or may not be something that you are capable of doing but if you are able to put up with shampooing every other day, it is a fantastic way to let the natural skin oils in your scalp cover the hair shaft a bit and the natural oils produce healthy hair.
