How to Gain Muscle by Maximizing Your Efforts

Most people approach their physique during training with the mindset of "sculpting" themselves.
This certainly does work to some degree, but a lot gets abandoned with this attitude.
First up, for those who have a little bit of a tummy, and think that they are going to do a bunch of crunches and somehow develop amazing abs, I would first like to point out that the best way to trim down the fat is to do a lot of cardio work.
You'll definitely want to do this before you'll notice the good stuff coming through.
If the idea of a gym membership doesn't interest you, take on the advantage by dancing, walking or running.
Movement is key for trimming, and there are plenty of options for this.
Even if you are pretty cut, you should probably be doing these things anyways.
Now onto the workout muscle gaining.
As I mentioned before, sculpting gets in the way a lot.
A strength approach is usually just the ticket.
Instead of trying to do so many sets or reps, reduce these, and simply add a little more weight.
Remember, the idea is to get the muscles shocked and stimulated, but believe it or not, that last rep can actually back pedal the work.
Its so easy to "over-work" the muscle groups, and just about everyone does it.
Keep your exercises short and sweet, and never try to take on too much.
As people, we're good-hearted and we want to work hard for our goals, but if you choose to limit your activity just a bit, you'd be surprised at the results.
By activity I certainly don't mean going it the easy route.
If you want to gain real muscle, you'll need to be a little more aggressive with your sets, which is also why you want to keep them short and sweet.
Don't forget your lower body either, especially for men.
Working the thighs can release helpful hormones that can build strength and endurance all over the body, and of course help to pack on the muscle.
As stated before, don't abandon your cardio.
This keeps you nice and stretched, can aid in your training movements, and is numero uno for total health.
