Video Transcript
Hi, I¡¯m Sara Bumby with Certified Fabulous. And today, we¡¯re going to be discussing lanolin and how to apply it to the skin. Lanolin has many benefits for the skin. It is a proven ingredient to not only heal and treat, but moisturize and repair. You apply pure lanolin to the skin for many different reasons. You can use it for cracked heels, sore nipples, dry elbows ¨C anywhere that¡¯s really dry, chafed, or cracked ¨C even calluses on your hands. You can apply the lanolin to your feet at night if they¡¯re sore, dry, callused or cracked. And then, put socks on ¨C a thin sock will do ¨C just anything to keep the lanolin on your feet and treating the skin throughout the night. When you remove your sock, your heel will be softer, well-protected, and it will have started to heal those cracks. Lanolin comes from sheep¡¯s wool, and they do not need to harm the animal to remove the lanolin from their wool. This is a tremendous ingredient ¨C it can be at room temperature very hard, but when you apply it you can put it in your fingers to warm it up. The touch of your skin and your hands will help to melt the product, and it will be easily applied whatever region of the body that you need to apply it to. Breastfeeding mothers use lanolin. They apply it to their sore, cracked or bleeding nipples in between breastfeeding. It will help to soothe and protect the area. When the child goes to nurse, you do not need to remove it. It is safe to stay on the skin during your breastfeedings. Make sure to buy a higher-grade lanolin. There are different kinds. Deodorized lanolin is what I recommend, considering the smell and odor can be quite abrasive coming from sheep¡¯s wool. So, look for a high-grade, even pharmaceutical-grade, pure lanolin when you¡¯re going to use this at home. Hi, I¡¯m Sara Bumby with Certified Fabulous, and that¡¯s how to apply lanolin to your skin.
