Threads

• Hi-Lo plastic screws are designed with a high and low thread. The high thread uses an included angle of 30 degrees and the low thread has an included angle of 60 degrees. These measure the intersecting angle between the thread and the straight edge of the fastener.

• The angle of the threads on Hi-Lo plastic screws are designed to decrease the amount of torque required to drive the fastener and increase the amount of torque to strip the screw. Another benefit is the reduction of cracking and bursting pressure when driving the screw.

• The diameter of the high thread for Hi-Lo plastic screws range from a minimum of 0.095 inches to a maximum of 0.317 inches. Minimum diameter for the low thread is 0.078 inches and the maximum is 0.25 inches.
