If yor basement is unfinished, treating the sill area is good for control.
From there, you should should be able to control spiders quarterly from the outside.
Now we are talking about a residual spray that you can pick up at the hardware store.
In the pest control industry, we use products that are longer lasting along with low toxicity rates.
However, there are many products that are labeled to leave a residue that will provide control even while you sleep that you may find over-the-counter.
Keep in mind that you should always follow the label when using any chemical.
"Stronger stuff" is not always better, so be careful not mix more than you should if you purchase a concentrate.
Should you be losing the spider battle, you may want to have a pest control company come in to "knock-down" the existing problem, then maintain it yourself.
