Dry Skin Tips
Unfortunately, I am one of those people, and its something that can be an inconvenience in life.
However, I have some tips that have worked for me in eliminating this inconvenience, and I'd like to share them with you! Not only do I have dry skin in general, but I also have eczema.
So, yes you can understand my plight in improving my dry skin issues.
Let's start with bathing.
I know many of you like hot showers, but honestly, this is what makes your skin extremely dry.
A good water temperature for showering is lukewarm.
If you want to be adventurous, and do something that I do, try taking a completely cold shower.
It sounds crazy, but you actually come out cleaner, and your skin will thank you.
If you don't want to try this, that is completely fine.
It is actually better to use a bodywash, rather than soap.
Bodywash is milder than soap, and doesn't dry the skin out.
While in the shower, you want to use Aveeno's in shower bath oil.
Apply it to your skin, then rinse off, then pat yourself dry with a towel.
If you want serious moisturizing, wash yourself with the oil itself.
It sounds weird, and there will be no suds or anything, but it will work.
After drying off, you will want to apply a good body lotion.
I would suggest using Nivea, Aveeno, or Cetaphil.
You really don't want to use any lotion with a loud fragrance, as these will dry the skin out.
Some pointers: never use anything lotion or bodywash with a heavy fragrance.
These will irritate and dry the skin out, as mentioned above.
If you have problem dry areas, or eczema on certain areas of the body, you can actually use foot lotion to smooth these areas out.
A good cream that I would suggest using is called Udderly Smooth.
Drink lots of water.
I know it sounds cliche, but it really does help the skin.
You may also want to take special vitamins that help your skin, such as vitamin E.
A very good lotion to use is called Amlactin.
It actually uses lactic acid.
When using this lotion, you should not have excessive exposure to the sun.
Because of this, I would suggest using it at night before bed.
The only downside to this lotion is it will cost you about $23.
00.
Its a lot, but it is definitely worth it.
If you find that you are still having issues with dry skin, it is advised that you should see a doctor, as you may have a serious medical condition.
