When faced with the challenge of teaching your dog new tricks, you need to employ an interesting formula that will keep you and the dog engaged.
This is because for the dog to be able to move the pace, it must be looking towards an incentive.
The first thing that an instructor should know is that the dog has no clue to what you are driving at.
Therefore to be able to learn a new trick you need to invest on his interest and likes.
The best approach to take that is to set ways how you will reward his efforts every moment he has scored in following the pattern of the trick.
This is because, after every mindboggling exercise, he can look forward to a reward.
This may be in terms of a meal he likes or any other relieving exercise that he truly enjoys.
Once you have mastered one trick, you may proceed to the other trick depending on your teaching schedule.
It is advised that you plan instructions in such a way that the animal will not loose the interest before he has mastered the steps for a certain trick.
Where he might be required to learn a sequence of tricks for the adaption of the required change of behavior, it is advisable that you provide an incentive in appreciation of a successful learning.
This helps the dog to understand that for it to be rewarded he has to perfect the art of the trick as expected.
Once he has perfected one sequence of behavior, it is always advisable to give him a break.
This helps him to come into terms with the new behavior as well as adapt the same as his own.
Depending on his learning ability, you should be able to program him to make sure that you maintain his interest at its best.
Once you have realized that his interest and concentration is wavering, you should change to some thing he enjoys or even call it a day.
Before starting the day's program it is advisable that you revisit the perfected tricks or what the dog likes doing most.
This will set the animal ready for the day's learning.
Once you have made sure that his mind is engaged for the learning you have to make sure that you keep rewarding him in the course of the exercise.
This will maintain his cooperation and interest as he looks forward for the next reward.
It is likewise advised that for good results when dealing with dogs, it is advisable that you adapt the animal to reliable communication tactics.
This will be part of the training, to make sure that you can tune to a new chapter with ease.
Once the animal has learnt your way of communication, he will always cooperate provided he knows there is a reward at the end of the lesson.
To make sure that you maintain a favorable pace, it is advisable to gauge the learning ability of your dog.
This is because you can always know when to disengage him and when to switch him on.
