Spot & Charlie"s Grand Adventures!
What a month this has been, not only did our Jack Russell, Spot go missing but our Blue Point Birman, Charlie also decided to go walk about a few days ago...
Spot went missing while down the Stables with a family member, he had a Pets Bureau ID Tag but it had not been activated yet so when he went missing we were very worried.
Spot is very young, energetic and easily distracted so he could have gone anywhere. All this was not helped by the fact that his Tag number would not work if found by someone who called the free phone number on the Tag. We were all very worried and frantically looking for him everywhere we could think in hopes of finding him.
Hours went by with us nervously looking for him all over the Village, were becoming increasingly concerned until we heard a familiar barking coming from a back garden not too far from the Stables. When we looked we found Spot on a lead with a woman who had found him. We all felt a great sigh of relief knowing he was safe and unharmed.
The lady said she had been calling the number on the Tag and received several text messaged informing her that the ID Tag had not been registered and to visit the Lost Pets Register in case he had been listed on there or to contact customer support to inform Pets Bureau that she had found a dog with a Tag. The lady said she was "impressed by the efficiency of Pets Bureau and the information given" in the messages."
Charlie however did have a registered ID Tag. Charlie is predominantly a house cat, she got out through an open door one afternoon. As soon as I realized, I rushed outside the back and began calling her name but to no avail so I walked up and down the road a couple of times asking passersby if they had seen a "white fluffy cat" around.
Unfortunately none of them had seen her, but thankfully Charlie had one of Pets Bureau's ID Tags which eased my worrying. Knowing that when Charlie was found, she had her collar and Tag that would lead back to us when the person who found her called the number on the back and quoted her unique ID Tag number.
Fortunately it didn't come to that as Charlie was found hiding under a parked car after jumping over the back wall and running across the road, a little shaken up but no worse for wear.
It wasn't until later that evening when we had all had time to reflect on today's events that it occurred to me just how much calmer I felt when Charlie went missing with the knowledge that she was registered and had a Tag, than when Spot went missing. I was surprised that something so simple could provide me with such piece of mind which enabled me to think clearly and not rush around all over the place frantically searching.
The ID Tags really do provide you with a sense of security, relief and ease the worrying and stress that can be brought on by such situations as your beloved pet going missing. After personally experiencing my own pets going missing with and without Tags I can honestly recommend these Tags and the service to anyone with Cats and Dog, I cannot stress just how much it helped me.
