    • 1). Call or visit the County Clerk's office in the county for which the order of protection was issued.

    • 2). Advise the clerk that you would like to check the status of a protective order.

    • 3). Provide the County Clerk with the victim's name and the offender's name. Provide the date of the original protective order.

    • 4). Wait as the clerk verifies the status of the protective order. She will let you know whether or not the order is still valid or if it is canceled or expired.
