Although cleaning a bathroom is never a fun job, it can be simpler with a checklist that lets everyone know not only what needs to be done, but also how to do it. Include the types of cleaning products to be used on the list, and keep the products together in a plastic bucket so they are easily on hand. Add a lined sheet next to the checklist, so cleaners can mark the day and date of their work to ensure that the bathrooms are scrubbed on a regular basis. Color coordinate cleaning tools so that one color sponge is used to clean only the bathroom sink, and the other color is only used to clean the toilet.

    Bathoom Sinks

    • Clean bathroom sinks with abrasive cleaner and sponge. Rinse thoroughly. Wipe down faucets with disinfectant spray and disposable paper towel. Spray glass cleaner on mirrors and clean them with a microfiber cloth.

    Toilet

    • Spray toilet bowl cleanser inside the toilet and use a brush to scrub it thoroughly. Spray a disinfectant cleanser on the entire exterior of the toilet, top and bottom of the seat, the lid and the back of the seat. Spray the cleanser on the sides of the toilet, all the way to the floor. Use the correct color of sponge to wipe the toilet completely. Scrub the inside of the toilet one more time and flush the toilet.

    Restock supplies

    • Refill the soap dispenser and paper towel holder. Check if the toilet paper rolls need to be changed. Spray disinfectant cleanser on the light switches and door handles and wipe clean.

    Floor

    • Remove trash and put new garbage bags in the trash bins. Sweep floor and mop using a disinfectant cleaner.
