While considering architecture as a career, you must determine the type of education and skills you want to graduate with and how they will shape future opportunities. For architecture schools that equip students to work and study across the world, there are both national and international institutes dedicated to providing accredited programs and coursework that offers a global perspective on the industry of architecture. - Florida International University's (FIU) Department of Architecture emphasizes five main areas of study: design, history/theory, digital technology, building technology, and business practice. Students have an opportunity to study architecture in Genoa, Italy, as well as in Miami, exposing them to a range of cultural influences and histories of the field. FIU also offers a master's of architecture, which is accredited by the National Architecture Accrediting Board.

fiu.edu - Based in London's Royal College of Art, the Architecture Department emphasizes the combination of experimentation with practicality in all its coursework and studies. Applicants must apply during spring and autumn sessions. Students become heavily involved with local and international design shows, and each year has three architectural design studios focused on producing designs and models for those shows. Classes cover not only the general construction and exterior of buildings and facilities, but also teach the necessity of factoring in furniture, personal space, and building purpose.
