OZ and B.O.
It's not often that we see someone we know, or a public figure, who remind us of a character from a movie.
After all most movies are fantasies of some kind.
But Barrack Obama brings to mind three characters from the same movie.
In the Wizard of OZ three characters said they lacked certain important things.
Those being: a brain, a heart, and courage.
Ultimately in the story we discover that they really did have these things.
They just weren't aware of it.
Like I said, movies are mostly fantasy.
Now there are some people who truly lack some of these important qualities.
None of us are perfect by any means.
But as the chief executive of the greatest nation on earth could you lack them all? First let's go to the brain department.
A man who has law degrees and taught at a university must have something going on there.
But if his knowledge does not lend itself to his present employment, then he will not do well at that job.
My doctor probably can't fix my car.
So in that light someone who has never ran anything may not run an entire country competently.
In an economic sense he seems to believe borrowing and spending will somehow create prosperity.
$830 billion stimulus spending with no reduction in unemployment would give most folks a little hint of what works, or what doesn't.
Adding trillions per year in debt only makes the picture worse.
Also look at the people he surrounds himself with.
A Treasury Secretary who can't do his own taxes? Hillary trying to reset relations with Russia was a prime example.
They came up with a sophomoric prop for her to use.
It was a small box with a red button on it.
It was labeled "Reset".
She and her Russian counterpart were to push it together.
The button was a red, latch down, twist to release.
In layman's terms an "Emergency Stop" button.
Our enemies have gone or soon will go nuclear.
A scarecrow that can't scare away crows comes to mind.
A heart.
When his party was in complete control he said the republicans can come along for the ride, they just have to sit in the back of the bus.
Hardly the attitude for a country facing such dire times.
Many natural disasters from the ice storms in Kentucky to the tornado outbreaks of 2011 have proven how much heart he really has.
He says, "We will stand with you.
" I'm sorry, but what is that suppose to mean? As close as he gets to a heart is the idea of spreading the wealth, and shared sacrifice.
All this while taking world trips and vacations doesn't ring well in the heart category.
Courage! Bowing slightly in some cultures is considered proper etiquette.
But to bow to the point that you're looking at the floor is usually a sign of submission.
His tours of some other countries have included apologies for America's past.
He also stated we may no longer lead the world economically.
This is more submission on display.
When riots broke out over Iran's questionable elections he chose to stay uninvolved.
He called for our closest Middle East ally to concede land to their enemies.
Where is the courage in any of this? There may be still one more character from the movie, the wizard.
When Dorothy said "You're a very bad man!" His reply was, "Oh, no, my dear, I'm a very good man.
I'm just a very bad wizard.
" In January of 2013 maybe we could see him floating away in a big balloon destined for Hawaii yelling, "I don't know how it works!"
