It is important to be clear in advance exactly what it you want to achieve from a jewelry booth.
For example, are you using it as a vehicle for attracting a following just for your own designs or are you looking to make as much money as possible to fund your own creative work? Once that is established, there are several steps to go through to make your jewelry booth a success.
A sales tax records system will need to be put in place.
Business insurance quotes must be obtained and one with the correct cover chosen.
There will usually be a requirement for a business license which must be formalized in advance.
Investigate your pricing policy.
It will a whole lot easier negotiating with clients if you have decided in advance what sort of discount you are willing to give for bulk purchases.
Also, if you leave your more exclusive wares unmarked, have a fair idea of what you will start at as a selling price and what you will ultimately accept.
Get your booth looking up market or cheap and cheerful depending on the type of event you are showing at.
Even with more expensive items it can still be a great idea to offer cheaper goods for impulse purposes.
Never forget that customers will be attending fairs and festivals for all sorts of reasons, not just to make a jewelry purchase.
But offer them a $10 cheap bead necklace and they might think that is just right for a friend's birthday or suchlike.
