The hotel Budapest (Moscow) was designed by architect Beyfrendberg in 1876 in one of the most interesting business and cultural area of Moscow, near the Kremlin and the Bolshoi Theatre.
At the end of the last century, building of the hotel Budapest functions as a tenement house. Since 1909, it already served one of central Moscow hotels named Russia. In 1914, the hotel is renamed into Elite, and in 1918 - Aurora. In 1956, the building was completely restored, and the hotel got its current name of Budapest. More than a century hotel history is still reflected in room and restaurant design. Such design always represented one of the main Budapest hotel sights. Prior to 1977, the hotel featured restaurant with the same name. Subsequently, the hotel areas housed Grand Opera restaurant and bank. At present, hotel Budapest is a state unitary enterprise of Moscow.
