What you must realize is that getting out of the mindset of that it is not work.
When you start looking at alternative methods of bringing in an extra or full time income from home, is that there are a lot of get rich over night sales pitches out there promising the sky.
Hopefully this article will save you some time in your search for the right opportunity and get you off to a good start.
You may have heard this before but plan to succeed! Planning is a key ingredient for anything to turn out right.
What happens after you get the bug for wanting to start a business? I know when I first started a business from home it was on the fly and I jumped right in, making many mistakes.
Here are some things to consider before putting the shingle"open for business" out in front of your home.
1)Decide what kind of business you feel that you are capable of providing.
2)Research the market in your area and around the country.
3)Look at your interests, strengths and weaknesses 4)Start to think about why you feel that you can provide better services or products to customers than say your competition already does.
5)Think about starting part time as a way to test the waters.
6)Educate your self on topics like business credit, incorporating, insurance and other related costs of starting a business.
There are many other things to consider as well but for now these are important for a variety of reasons.
Start with No.
1: It makes sense to look at interests because no matter what type of business you plan on if you match it up to your interest you'll stay in it for the long haul and are more likely to be passionate regarding your business.
Because in the beginning you may have to put in more than a 9-5 schedule to get off the ground.
No.
2: Your interest may or may not be a viable business it really depends on looking to see if there are potential customers for "x" business.
No.
3 : Interests we covered, strengths are the skills you have already it could be management of people, computer related, arts or what ever the possibility of starting a business also relies on what you'll need to learn or your weaknesses.
No.
4: Once you decide on providing services or products, how will you stand out from the crowd? Why would customers choose you instead of the other company? Can you do this cheaper (and profit),deliver quicker or provide better products, all good things that can get customers for your business.
No.
5: I suggest this often, never give up your day job until you can cover your expenses from the new business.
The only time I would think otherwise is if you have the capital to pay for 3 or more months of expenses before any money comes in the door from the home based business your planning on starting.
No.
6: Education is key, take a class to learn about your new business, go to local SBC meetings and learn about business planning, development, etc.
Never stop learning about business models or providing business as you grow you'll see new problems to solve, so keep abreast of new technologies and other changes in your industry.
Starting today if it is your wish to work from home, then I challenge you to do nothing for the next 4 hours but research.
Search both on line and off line to determine if there is a need, what the competition is like and how you may do this differently than the other guy.
