Bed Bugs - Tips & Signs of Whether You Have Them

Bed bugs are little bugs that feed off of human blood.
They are nocturnal and there many different types of bed bugs.
Unfortunately mattresses can be a great place for bed bugs to hide, as this is where they can find a great source of food.
This article goes over 5 things to look out for if you are concerned you have bed bugs.
1.
Waste - The first thing you should do if you think you have these little creatures is to look for their waste.
You may notice dark spots on your mattress.
This usually is blood or feces.
You may also find dead bed bugs and eggs if you look harder enough.
This waste can not only be on your mattress but also on your linen - so check everywhere! 2.
Hiding - Look in places where they could hide.
They could be under the mattress, in crevices of the mattress etc - it all depends on what type of mattress you have.
Always try to look for the dark spots, as it is highly unlikely you will see a live one, although you may find a dead one! 3.
Use A Flashlight - Seeing as these bugs are nocturnal, you could try keeping a flashlight by your bed to check out your sites just before dawn.
This doesn't mean you will spot them as if you only have a small amount they won't have to come out very often and also you have to careful not to move too much as they will go back into hiding.
It is worth a shot if you really are concerned.

Bites - If you find that you are getting little red bumps on your body after a good night's sleep you may be getting bitten by them.
Unfortunately it is difficult to identify a bed bug bite but if they is no other real explanation it could be the problem.

Carpet tape - One thing you could try that will get results is to get some double-sided carpet tape.
This tape is designed to stick mats and rugs to the floor.
If you put strips of the tape around your bed and on the side of your mattress for a few days you can then discover if you have bed bugs, as they will stick to it.
This is probably the best way for confirmation.
Bed bugs can be a nuisance but you can work out if you have them and what to do.
