What Are Some Dinner Activities on a Carnival Cruise Ship?
- Most of the dining options on a Carnival Cruise Ship are included in the price of the cruise. For those who prefer casual, sit-anywhere dining, the Lido Deck offers a variety of choices for dinner. Each night, with flexible hours of operation, several stations are available at the Sea View Bistro, offering buffet selections, a salad bar, carving stations and desserts. In addition, there is a 24-hour pizzeria featuring salads, freshly baked pizzas and calzones. If you're feeling hungry, but not in the mood to leave your stateroom, you can order from the room service menu 24 hours a day.
- After a full day of onboard activities or exploring one of the ship's destinations, you will be ready for a sit-down dinner with starters such as soups, salad and other appetizers; a main course, usually including fish, seafood, beef, chicken or vegetarian options; and dessert. The early dining begins at 6 p.m. and the late dining is at 8:15 p.m. In addition, several Carnival ships offer the "Your Time Dining" option to dine in the main dining room any time between 5:45 and 9:30 p.m. Guests are usually seated within 20 minutes on a first-come first-serve basis, depending on party size. Parties of 10 or more may need accommodation at different tables.
- Many Carnival Cruise ships have steakhouses, which feature USDA prime beef cooked to specification as well as a selection of seafood entrees and gourmet appetizers. The cost for the steakhouse meal is $30 per person as of 2010, and reservations are recommended.
