How to Wire a Camper Plug 50 Amp Outlet

    • 1). Locate the electrical box on your camper. Locate the current electrical plug. Use wire cutters to remove the current plug if it is not 50 amps.

    • 2). Fold the cable cover back to expose the internal wires. Use the wire cutters to strip a small length of covering from the white, black and green wires.

    • 3). Push the end of the green wire into the green slot on the plug. Use the screw driver to tighten the corresponding screw.

    • 4). Push the end of the white wire into the silver slot and tighten the corresponding screw to lock the wire in place.

    • 5). Push the black wire into the gold slot on the plug and tighten the corresponding screw to lock the wire in place.

    • 6). Pull the cable cover over the wires and wrap with electrical tape to secure the plug.
