How to Cut Part of a Photo & Put It in Another in Photoshop Elements

    • 1). Open the photo that you want to cut from.

    • 2). Use the lasso tool to carefully trace around the object you want to paste.

    • 3). Go to the "Select" menu and choose "Modify."

    • 4). Click on "Contract" and contract your selection by 1-5 pixels, depending on the size of your photo. Use a smaller contraction for smaller photos.

    • 5). Return to the "Modify" menu and click on the "Feather" option.

    • 6). Feather the selection by the same amount of pixels you contracted by.

    • 7). Press Ctrl+C on the keyboard to copy your selection.

    • 8). Open the photo you want to paste into.

    • 9). Hit Ctrl+V on the keyboard to paste your selection into the new photo. Photoshop Elements automatically puts it into a new layer and you can move the object where you want it from there.
