How to Make cheap Silhouette Wedding Invitations

Silhouette portraiture was extremely popular in the late 18th century, and is an easily recognizable art form. These portraits are usually done as
profiles, and are a solid black paper cutout that is based on the
outline of the subjects face, neckline and shoulders. Silhouettes are classic and timeless portraits, and are the perfect way to add a vintage touch to
your wedding day.
Whether you are planning a Victorian themed wedding or simply want to incorporate these beautiful paper portraits into your wedding invitations, you
can easily do so. While professional silhouette artists are still around today, they often charge a great deal of money for their craft. Creating your own
paper silhouettes is fairly easy, and can be done at home using basic craft supplies. To create homemade one-of-a-kind silhouette wedding invitations
you will need:
Picture of the bride taken at profile view
Picture of the groom taken at profile view
Tracing paper
High quality black card stock
High quality white card stock
Pencil
White colored pencil
Scissors
X-acto knife
Glue
Hole punch
Thin black ribbon
1. To create the body of the wedding invitations, fold each sheet of white card stock into fourths. Use the scissors to cut out each quarter. This will
create the bodies of four invitations. Set the card stock cutouts aside.
2. Line the tracing paper over the picture of the bride. The picture should be small enough that the silhouette cutout of the photo will fit onto the
invitation alongside the photo of the groom.

3. Carefully trace the outline of the bride's head, neck and shoulders using the pencil.
4. Cut the traced silhouette of the bride out using the X-acto knife.
5. Line the tracing paper over the picture of the bride. The picture should be the same size as the silhouette cutout of the bride.
6. Carefully trace the outline of the groom's head, neck and shoulders using the pencil.
7. Cut the traced silhouette of the groom out using the X-acto knife.
8. Trace the silhouette cutouts of the bride and groom onto the black card stock using the white colored pencil. Note that you will need one cutout of
the bride and one cutout of the groom for each invitation.
9. Carefully cutout all of the silhouettes from the black card
stock.
10. Line up one silhouette of the bride and one silhouette of the groom on each invitation. The two silhouettes should be arranged so that they are
facing one another on the invitation.
11. Use the glue to adhere the silhouettes onto each invitation.
12. Use the hole punch to create two holes on the top of each invitation. The holes should be approximately two inches apart.13. Cut a strip of ribbon for each invitation that is four inches in length.
14. Loop the ribbons through the two holes on each cheap Wedding Invitations and tie the ribbons into bows.
