How to Decide on a Top Rated Cookware

How do know if you picked top rated cookware for your kitchen? What makes a pot a quality pot? Are there specifics involved or is it purely a personal choice? Quality cookware is a combination of metal characteristics, innovation in manufacturing, user friendly handling and personal choice.
That being said, I favor All-Clad kitchen ware, let me explain why.
First, All-Clad was created by a small metallurgical company and formed in 1971.
The founder, John Ulam originally held patent's for many types of bonded metals, then he focused on cookware.
Stainless cookware was created over 100 years ago and has evolved over the years.
Stainless has two definitions of alloys for cookware 18-10 (higher alloy metals) or 18-8(lower alloy metals).
All-Clad metals meet the metallurgical quality definition of higher alloy, 18-10 stainless.
This type of stainless pot is durable, strong and corrosive resistant.
Second, I did some real world testing, I looked into Cuisinart, bought a few pieces of Kitchen Aid, bought a few pieces of glass stove top cookware, I even have some of the newer ceramic coated frying pans but I settled nicely into an All Clad cookware set.
All-Clads stainless has cool handles when heated.
Cooks evenly with no hot spots, I can turn the pot off for the last 10 minutes with things like rice and it continues to cook.
The cleanup is easy, I don't need special cleansers to keep them clean and shiny.
Pots stay shiny with a minimum of effort.
My children even put them away and I still don't have dings or scratches on them.
I believe cookware that can withstand the daily abuse of making breakfast, lunch and dinner without me having to continuously replace is important.
All-Clad is quality that I can see and feel on a daily basis.
I don't want to spend any more time or money on cookware, I want to hang my pots on a rack and walk away with no worries.
Well, now I do.
I even get more cabinet space out of the deal.
So, in conclusion I do think that top rated cookware is all of the above, specifics and personal choice.
One without the other is inferior.
Bonus tips: I didn't go out and purchase the whole set at once.
I slowly switched out my pots when they went on sale.
I used an All Clad outlet to stock my kitchen with some new pots.
This way my trade-ins were economically priced.
Also, whatever I couldn't find at the outlet, I supplemented with purchases from Williams and Sonoma, Chef's catalog and Amazon.
They all have great sales you just have to check regularly.
Note: Make sure you look at all holiday's they always run specials on different All-Clad pots.
It's important to know your price points when you are outfitting your kitchen with all new cookware.
This way you can buy top rated cookware that is easy on your wallet.
These pots are also made in the USA.
