How to Broil Fresh Halibut
- 1). Preheat the oven's broiler. Coat a baking sheet in a thin, even layer of cooking spray.
- 2). Rinse the halibut fillet in cool water and pat dry with paper towels. Place onto the prepared baking sheet.
- 3). Dip your fingers in olive oil and rub it into the halibut's surface on both sides. Squeeze the juice from half a lemon over the exposed side of the fillet. Flip the fillet over and repeat with the other half of the lemon.
- 4). Sprinkle the dill weed evenly over both sides of the halibut fillet, followed by the garlic powder and then salt.
- 5). Broil the halibut for 10 minutes and flip to ensure the fillet cooks evenly. Broil for an additional 10 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. Actual broiling time will vary based upon the thickness of the halibut fillet.
- 6). Remove the halibut from the broiler and drizzle 1 tbsp. melted butter over each side before serving.
