      There are a variety of grants available to nonprofit organizations that work with children who have been victims of abuse. Grants for nonprofits working with abused children are typically awarded by foundations that grant money to organizations that help women and children. Although some foundations grant money to nonprofits throughout the nation, others make donations to local organizations.

    WHO Foundation Grants

    • The Women Helping Others Foundation provides grant money to nonprofit organizations dedicated to helping women and children. Past grant recipients include Casa For Children, a nonprofit organization that helps find homes for abused children in Oregon. Grant amounts typically range from $5,000 to $30,000. In order to be eligible, a nonprofit must have a total organizational budget of less than $3 million, and cannot have more than 30 percent of its operational budget funded by either the federal government or The United Way. In addition, a nonprofit must have been incorporated for at least three years at the time of application.

    DanPaul Foundation Grants

    • The DanPaul Foundation provides funds to nonprofit organizations and programs, and one of the foundation's target areas for funding is nonprofits that work to help abused children. DanPaul Foundation Grants are typically limited to $20,000, although larger awards may occasionally be made. In order to be eligible, an organization must have nonprofit or charity status according to the Internal Revenue Service. The DanPaul Foundation awards grants to nonprofits nationwide. Organizations must submit a detailed proposal and budget in order to be considered.

    100 Women Foundation Grants

    • The 100 Women Charitable Foundation provides grant money to nonprofit organizations working with children, including organizations that operate for the benefit of children who have been victims of abuse. In order to be eligible for a 100 Women Foundation Grant, a nonprofit organization must have tax-exempt status, and must be located in the San Francisco Bay area. Interested parties should visit the 100 Women Foundation website to download an electronic copy of the grant application letter of intent to apply. The annual deadline for letters of intent is May 28.
