I get the question all the time, how do you make ? Well a big part of it has to do with having the right equipment. When you are making this at home, having the right equipment can make all the difference. Before I get into the equipment part and its recipe, let me go over the basic ingredients you will need to make rice. First you will need of course the rice itself which is either short or medium grain rice then you will also need vinegar.
You can make it without using a rice cooker but using a rice cooker is also extremely recommended as it makes the whole at home experience a lot easier. You don't need a fancy one to get the job done, Put the rice in and bowl and mix with cold water to rinse it. Drain the bowl and repeat this process 2-3 times to properly wash the rice.
2) Measure how much rice you will need according to your recipe and place that amount into the rice cooker. Add the requirement amount of water to the rice.
3) Bring the water to a bowl, the rice cooker will do this for you and let the sushi rice absorb all the water. Keep in heat for 10-13 minutes.
4) Remove the it from the heat and let it stand for another 10-15 minutes making sure the bowl is covered.
5) Now add your sushi vinegar to the sushi rice using a non-stick rice paddle such as the one provided with the SushiQuik Roller, to help spread the rice.
6) Let the rice cool and covered until it is cool to the touch.
