How to Calculate F/C Temps
- 1). Subtract 32 from the Fahrenheit temperature to begin calculation for the Celsius temperature. For example, if the temperature is 86, then subtracting 32 from 86 equals 54.
- 2). Divide that number by 1.8. For the example, 54 divided by 1.8 equals 30. The temperature in Celsius is 30 degrees.
- 3). Multiply the Celsius temperature by 1.8 as the first step in calculating the Fahrenheit temperature. For example, if the temperature in Celsius is 40, then multiplying 40 by 1.8 equals 72.
- 4). Add 32 to that number to obtain the temperature measured in degrees Fahrenheit. For the example, 32 added to 72 equals 104. The temperature in Fahrenheit is 104 degrees.
