How to Study for the GED on an iPad
- 1). Familiarize yourself with the GED test. You will need to understand the content you will be tested on. There are five assessment areas that make up the overall GED test: reading, writing, math, science and social studies. If one or more of these subjects is more challenging for you, expect to spend extra time studying challenging subjects.
- 2). Study for the GED. Various study materials are available on your IPad. You can download a number of e-books from retailers, or you can take advantage of the free study materials found online. Use some of the free online GED study materials (see Resources).
- 3). Download any GED applications you are interested in from iTunes. One of the highlights of an iPad is all the downloads that are available. Applications are available to help you study easily, for a relatively low cost. Search iTunes to find applications you think would be helpful.
- 4). Enroll in an online class if you think the benefit is worth the expense. Universal Class offers an online GED preparation class that is approved by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training. This class is self-paced and affordable, not to mention you will earn a certificate of course completion and 3.7 continuing education units (see Resources).
- 5). Take the GED practice exam a few times. A free practice exam recommended by the GED Testing Service is available at GEDpractice.com. Practice will improve your test-taking skills, familiarize you with the kinds of questions that will be on the exam and help you identify any weakness areas that exist. When you are satisfied with your practice test scores, locate a GED testing center using your zip code, by going to the American Council on Education's Center Locator website (See Resources).
