Their legs and feet must be uncrossed with the toes pointing outward.
Once they are comfortable start talking to them in a slow and calming tone of voice.
Ask your subject to take a deep breath and as they breathe out, he/she must close their eyes and feel their body and mind relaxing.
Now start to focus your subject's attention on different parts of their body, start with the tips of their toes and continue to the top of their head.
During this you can give your subject the following instructions: "Focus your attention on your feet, now relax your feet, and let every muscle in your feet become loose and limp and more relaxed, notice how good your feet are feeling.
" It is important to include positive encouragement during the whole session, include terms such as "You are doing well" and "That is excellent".
Take your time with this exercise allowing your subject to relax completely while enjoying the experience.
Depending on your subject, you might need to repeat the whole process a few times.
