July 28, 2005 - Oscar-winner Russell Crowe and director Ridley Scott may reunite for "A Good Year," a Fox 2000 movie set in France.
Based on the novel by Peter Mayle, "A Good Year" follows Max Skinner as he leaves London - and a ruined financial career - behind to take over the French vineyard he inherited from his uncle.

Marc Klein adapted the screenplay and Ridley Scott will be producing through Scott Free Productions.

Filming is expected to begin in September in Paris.

Crowe and Scott worked together previously on "Gladiator," the historical epic which earned Crowe an Academy Award for Best Actor. "Gladiator" also took home Best Costume, Visual Effects, Sound, and Best Picture Oscars.

Both Scott and Crowe are having difficult years, movie-wise. Scott's $130 million action film, "Kingdom of Heaven," opened to harsh reviews and tanked at the box office. And while Crowe was thought to be an early entry into the Best Actor race again this year, his "Cinderella Man" never found an audience.
