    • Electronic Arts is a very successful video game company that was founded by Trip Hawkins after he left Apple in 1982. After some early success as a game publisher and distributor, EA began to develop its own titles in-house in 1987. Since that time, the company has grown to become one of the most respected and successful video game developers in the world. EA has a wide variety of titles and franchises that appeal to gamers worldwide.

    The Madden Franchise

    • Madden NFL has been an annual tradition in the EA lineup since 1991 when "John Madden Football" was released. The game acquired an official NFL license in 1993 that enabled it to use the real names and likenesses of NFL teams and players. Every year, EA updates the game with new players and some added features, and tweaks the gameplay slightly to try to further emulate the intricacies of football. Madden was the most popular NFL video game on the market, but in 2004, it became the only option when it acquired the exclusive rights to the NFL and the NFL Players Association.

    Mass Effect

    • Not limited to strictly sports titles, EA enjoyed great success with the release of Mass Effect, a science fiction role-playing title that EA developed in conjunction with game developer BioWare. The game starts by having you custom design your main character, named Commander Shepard. You get to choose his appearance and abilities as well as info on his back story that other characters will comment on and interact with you about as the game progresses. You are basically a galactic bounty hunter who is tracking an evil double-agent across the galaxy in dramatic space-opera fashion.

    Medal of Honor

    • Medal of Honor has been another successful series for EA, and it originated as a World War II-based first-person shooter. Sacrificing historical accuracy for immersive environments and epic action sequences, the original "Medal of Honor: Allied Assault" title has spawned multiple spin-off titles, including a modern reboot taking place in Afghanistan. Known for its multiple level twist and turns and fast-paced gameplay, the Medal of Honor series has become one of the most successful first-person shooter series in gaming history.
