Refrigerator Water Line Installation
- 1). Turn off the water mains for the house.
- 2). Locate the cold water supply line closest to your fridge. This will likely be under the kitchen sink, or you may need to drill a hole leading from the basement ceiling into the kitchen floor.
- 3). Place a saddle valve over the copper section of the cold water supply copper pipe.
- 4). Set the back bracket of the saddle valve onto the pipe and screw the front portion of the saddle valve to the back portion of the saddle valve by tightening the nuts with a wrench.
- 5). Tighten down the handle of the saddle valve until it pierces the copper pipe. Leave the valve tightened.
- 6). Run the tubing from the saddle valve from the cold water supply line to your refrigerator. Attach the end of the tubing to the valve on the refrigerator.
- 7). Turn on the water at the main and open the saddle valve so the water flows. Test the water in an hour, once it has had time to run and flow to the refrigerator.
