    • 1). Remove the toe panel and kick panel. These are located just beneath the dishwasher door. The toe panel is located right next to the floor and is usually held in place with screws. The kick panel, just above the toe panel, may be held in place with screws or simply clipped in place.

    • 2). Open the dishwasher door. Use the screwdriver to remove the screws securing the inner panel. On some dishwashers, this may be held in place with specialty screws. Lift the panel out of the door.

    • 3). Locate the door springs, which are connected at the bottom of the door. Use the pliers to pull a spring off the connection in the door.

    • 4). Remove the other end of the spring from the dishwasher frame by pulling it off with a pair of pliers.

    • 5). Replace the springs on each side of the inside door. Place the inside door cover back into place. Secure with the inside door screws.

    • 6). Close the dishwasher door. Stretch the springs with a pair of pliers, and hook each end over the spring hook on the inside of the kick panel.

    • 7). Replace the kick panel and door panel. Secure with the screws.
