• 1). Design your invitation. Insert a vertical line at the 4.25 inch mark, dividing your paper in half vertically. Insert a horizontal line at the 5.5 inch mark, dividing your paper in half horizontally. You have now created a template for four equal sized invitations.Use a word processor to add text, images, symbols, or photos to create your design. If you don't want to start with a blank canvas, or just need some help in the design process, use a publishing software that uses templates and walks users through the process of making their own paper products such as invitations. If you do not have a publisher program, search online for invitation templates; many greeting card companies offer free templates on their websites.
  
  
• 2). Preview your design. View the invitations you have designed as they would appear on the page. Select the "print preview" or "view full screen" option to do so. If you are satisfied with your design, continue on to the next step. If you are not satisfied, continue to work on the design of your invites.
  
  
• 3). Print your invitations. Print one page of invitations and determine if you like the finalized copy of your invite. Continue printing until you have printed the desired number of invites. If you want to print something on both sides of your invitation, print the first side and then reverse the direction of your card stock to print on the reverse side. All printers are different and take in the paper differently, so do a test run before printing all of your invitations.
  
  
• 4). Cut out your invitations. Cut out each invitation separately. Use a ruler to ensure you make straight edge cuts on your invitations.
  
  
• 5). Finish your invitations. Place the invitations into the envelopes. Add a sticker that matches the theme of the party to the seal of the envelope for a decorative touch. Address and mail your invitations.
