    McCroskey State Park

    • A 5300-acre park along the ridgeline, McCroskey State Park offers spectacular views of the Palouse country. The 18-mile skyline drive can be taken by ATVs as well as 32 miles of multipurpose trails. The park is open year-round; posted hours are daylight, but the park allows for camping, too. With no entry fee, there are primitive camping areas and picnic places along the road. Located about 50 miles, or an hour away from Twin Lakes, this is one of the closest trails to the town itself.

    Silver Mountain Resort

    • The second closest ATV area is Silver Mountain Resort. This area caters to mountain bikers. It has lots of single track and a gondola to take bikers back to the top. The resort offers hundreds of miles of trails as well as old logging roads. The rider can explore hidden lakes, ghost towns, and rivers. You can bring your own machine or rent directly from Adventure Sport Rentals. Because of snow conditions, this park is open only in the summer and fall during daylight hours. The resort has a lodge right on the premises. Only 52 miles from Twin Lakes, it should take you about an hour of travel time.

    Moyie River Bridge and Falls

    • The next closest trail area is Moyie River Bridge and Falls. Trail ride near the thunder of the falls and between canyon walls. While you cannot take your ATV over the bridge, it might be worth a walk, as you will be suspended 450 feet above the whitewater. The park is free and open all year. About 75 miles away from Twin Lakes, it should take you about an hour and half in travel time to reach Moyie River Bridge and Falls.

    The Rest of Idaho

    • There are many other trails throughout Idaho, but most are a five- to 10-hour drive from Twin Lakes. The Nez Perce and Bitterroot Forests offer a large array of trails if you are willing to venture to the eastern side of the state. No matter where you go, you are sure to find many things to see in the wild outdoors of Idaho.
