Adding Wedge Anchors to New Concrete

    • 1). Place the object you wish to secure in its desired spot on the concrete surface prior to marking the wedge anchor points. Remove the object to expose the marks on the concrete surface.

    • 2). Attach a masonry bit featuring the same dimensions as the wedge anchor to the hammer drill. Adjust the hammer drill's depth gauge to the correct hole depth.

    • 3). Place the tip of the masonry bit onto the mark indicated on the concrete surface. Hold the drill at a 90-degree angle from the floor and squeeze the power trigger on the handle to begin drilling.

    • 4). Apply enough pressure on the back of the hammer drill to keep the hammering feature engaged until you have reached the required depth for the wedge anchors. Slide the masonry bit in and out of the hole while it is spinning to remove any large debris.

    • 5). Slip a wedge anchor into each drilled hole. Thread the nut slightly higher than the bolt it attaches to and tap the bolt with a hammer if it doesn't slip into the drilled hole.
