Throughout 2005 rumors began surfacing that both Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson had extra-marital relationships. They adamantly denied the rumors in public, but in November, 2005, the couple announced a separation. In December Jessica Simpson filed for divorce. She cited "irreconcilable differences."
