Seems, too pushy? Let's start from the top 1) You can keep your job and have a long backpacking trip in the same time Why? Because it's recession.

During this period, your company may want to keep the work force but at a lower expense.
If you talk to your boss, you might just get a longer leave period for your trip.
And your job is not in jeopardy because all the happening in the office is slower than usual and it might just be the same when you get back or at most changed a little bit.
How? Talk to your boss.
That might not be a very good choice..
because he might just fire you.
Well, you have to take risk in order to get the reward.
So just go ahead.
2) You can still build your financial base during your backpacking trip Why? Because this world is small and connected by the internet.
How? Find work that could be done with just a computer or laptop and a internet connection.
For example, web design, forex trading, article writing, photography, etc...
the list just get longer and longer.
You have to look into your skills and see what could be fitted in the the area of free lancers.
Then just get hook on the net and you just found your gold nest.
3) Backpacking does not equal to losing contact with the real world With the ever connect world now, you would not lose contact with your home unless you intended to.
So, don't be afraid of such realistic matter and go ahead to plan and execute your backpacking trip.
It's always to do and fail then to regret without any action!!
