Such coverage options a condo owner or renter will need to consider might include:

  • Coverage for the owner's or renter's personal belongings.
  • Liability coverage to protect the owner or renter in the event someone becomes injured on or within his property.
When it comes to condo insurance, Florida residents might also find themselves looking at insurance related to or required by the complex or association to which their condos belong.
These are details each renter or owner will need to discuss with his or her complex manager or association head and might include coverage for shared structural components and common areas.

Unfortunately, whether it's home insurance or condo insurance, Florida folks usually can't add flood coverage to their policies.

) Fortunately, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, also known as FEMA, maintains a program called the National Flood Insurance Program.
This program does cater to people who rent or own condos in Florida and, typically, the manager of your condominium complex or association will provide each renter or owner with details about opting into the program.
