Kenmore Vacuum Cleaner Directions
- 1). Hold the vacuum handle located at the top of the vacuum, step on the hand release pedal on the back of the Kenmore at the bottom-left and pull the handle back to a guiding position.
- 2). Tilt the vacuum back with the handle in the upright position to lift the wheels off of the floor. Move the pile height adjustment switch -- located on the bottom-front of the vacuum -- to the desired setting. Use the "Low" setting for low-pile carpets and bare floors and use "High" for shag carpets and scatter rugs.
- 3). Move the power switch on the front of the handle from "Off" to "Floor" or "Carpet" mode to turn on the vacuum. "Floor" mode activates suction only. "Carpet" mode activates both the suction and revolving brushes. Slide the power switch to "Off" to turn off the vacuum cleaner.
- 4). Look at the "Check Bag" indicator on the back of the vacuum and confirm that the light is off. If the light is on, remove the disposable dust bag and replace it with a new one. If the dust bag is full, airflow is blocked and the vacuum is unable to pick up dirt.
- 5). Bring the vacuum handle into an upright position and pull the hose handle up and out of the hose holder on the back of the vacuum at the top. Place any of the supplied attachments on the end of the hose handle and push them on until they are secure. If you're using the wand handle attachment and wish to extend it, slide the wand handle apart until it reaches the desired length.
- 6). Glide the vacuum across the floor or area you wish to clean using the handle, until the area is clean. To clean carpet edges, use the bare nozzle of the wand handle or the supplied crevice tool, which can work easily in corners. To clean stairs, set the vacuum upright to stop the rotating brushes, attach the crevice or combination brush tool and clean each stair.
