Wash and peel carrots, and cut anyway you like. Slicing allows carrots to cook evenly and retain flavor and moisture.

Heat butter over medium heat until melted. Don't allow melted butter to burn or evaporate.

Add carrots to skillet and cook until they reach desired tenderness. For softer carrots cook at least 10 minutes, 5 minutes for crunchier carrots.

Add desired seasoning. Nutmeg is a perfect spice for carrots, and it tastes so good that even the kids will like it.
